Project Case Study

Gene is a life long entrepreneur who has owned multiple businesses at the same time. As any true business person knows, there will be down times, especially if your business is seasonal or outdoors. Gene’s businesses have mostly been outdoors and seasonal.

Nothing lasts forever though. A parasite took out most of his crayfish trapping spots. After realizing that the parasite was spreading and that his Wisconsin based Crayfish business might not be viable anymore, Gene started looking at other types of businesses that he is interested in.

He started out the 2022 year by publishing his book, The Stoner’s Travel Guide to Upper Michigan, which I edited. Now he’s looking towards the future. He knows that he wants to keep working for many years to come. But hadn’t settled on an exact name or business plan yet.

At the same time, he also realized that he has a lifetime of equipment, as well as a number of other things that he would like to get rid of. He loves my Cyber Garage Sale website, and asked if I could sell some of his items on my site. I suggested that he have is own website and sell it there instead.

He knew that on top of having a lot of his own personal items he wanted to sell, he was also interested in buying and reselling in the long run. In the course of many conversations about this topic, the “Gene G Check” website was born.
