Meetings are by appointment only, as always. I still have specific working hours when I am concentrating on my work product, and specific office hours when I am available to stop working and have a meeting instead. But now I will have a dedicated office outside of my home to meet clients in!

In case you’re new here, my name is Jessica, and I am the owner and sole proprietor of Green Web Design. I got my first home computer in 1985 when I was 8 years old and living in Phoenix, AZ. I began using the Internet when it went public in 1993. I began creating websites in 1995 on nights and weekends while I worked and went to school full time IN Milwaukee, WI. In 2005, I decided to go full time with my website development business. In 2006, I moved to Ripon, WI. In 2014 I moved to Menominee, MI. And now, in 2023, I am finally leasing my first office!

Until now I have always worked from home. I have typically met clients at my home, at their business, or in coffee shops. Some clients, I’ve never even met in person.

Even though at one time I did have access to shared office space at my business partner’s office, this is the first time I have ever signed a lease for my own commercial office space outside of my home.

At home, I have typically turned the larger of the two bedrooms into my office. This is a huge upgrade for me, since I will now have two 10’x11′ rooms. In addition, there is a large shared lobby where I can definitely see myself hosting a few “Friends of Green Web Design” networking meetings in the future.

That being said, There are already 5 chairs in the lobby that are provided by the landlord. And I’m looking to purchase 10-15 stackable restaurant type chairs so that I can accomodate a larger group if needed.

Baker Sign in Iron Mountain, MI is currently making my polycarb sign for out in front of the building, but there is some kind of extreme delay at the printer they use, so it might take several weeks. I’m trying so hard to be patient, lol.

After I have all of the furniture set up and my new sign is installed outside, I will have an open house. In the meantime, here’s a sneak peek at my office!
