Before you can start creating a website, you need Web Hosting. The files, images, and other digital components that make up your website must be uploaded somewhere in order for people to see them. This remote online storage space where your files live is called “Website Hosting”.
Web Hosting Services are a necessary building block of any website. Think of it as the equivalent of paying rent on your retail storefront. You want to make sure that your web hosting environment has enough space and resources to do what you need your website to do, otherwise your users will have a poor experience when visiting your website. Let’s talk about it!
There are different types of website hosting.
Basic, shared web hosting is the lowest cost web hosting option, and this may be all you need to start off with. Shared web hosting service refers to a web hosting service where many websites reside on one web server. This is generally the most economical option for hosting, as the overall cost of server maintenance is amortized over many customers.
Virtual private web hosting gives you more control over your website environment while still offering a lower cost. A virtual private server (VPS) runs its own copy of an operating system, and customers have superuser-level access to that operating system instance, so they can install almost any software that runs on that OS.
Dedicated web hosting is the best and most secure type of web hosting, but also, the most costly. A dedicated hosting service, dedicated server, or managed hosting service is a type of Internet hosting in which the client leases an entire server that is not shared with anyone else. Costs typically begin around $1500- $2500 / year for a basic dedicated server, and it goes up significantly from there.
When you purchase semi-dedicated web hosting on my dedicated server, WordPress Management is included. This means that whenever there is an update to your WordPress core, plugins, theme, or other software you may be using, I will log in and update it as soon as possible to ensure the security of all websites on our server. Since the various plugins and themes used by WordPress come out with updates several times per week, it’s necessary to check multiple times per day for updates to ensure that there are no security flaws in your environment.
I also do weekly, and monthly backups of every single website on my dedicated server. No matter what happens, I have a backup and can restore your website quickly if the need arises.
My web hosting plans come with world-class support. Dollar-for-dollar, feature-for-feature, you’ll find the Web’s best webhosting plans right here. My webhosting plans aren’t cheap – they’re affordable. Big difference!
